MYOB has advised that there will be a PCI update required for MYOB Exo Business customers using Bank Feeds and SBR Services by 1 October 2018.
MYOB online services are maintained within compliance guidelines mandated by the PCI Security Standards Council. In order to maintain adherence to these standards and best practices, there is an upcoming change required in order for Exo Business clients to connect to online services using a newer and higher level of encryption.
In order to continue to receive Bank Feeds, apply for additional feeds, or submit SBR taxable payments after 1 October 2018, customers will need to install a patch release.
There will be replacement executables (Finance.exe, Exonet.exe and ExoConfig.exe) that simply replace the existing versions, with no other changes required.
MYOB Exo Business version 2018.3.0 will already include this change, and a 2018.2.2 Service Pack will be made available soon. MYOB has advised that in order to minimise disruption, they are in the process of recompiling a number of previous releases to include the patches as well. It is not yet known which previous releases will be recompiled. However, Enprise will let you know as soon as this information is confirmed by MYOB.
Customers are encouraged to take this opportunity to upgrade to recent versions at the same time as installing the patch release, if possible.
MYOB has advised that more information about the rollout will be available shortly. Enprise will let you know when this information comes available and we will make the newly compiled .exe files available for download as well, along with implementation instructions.
