Enprise customers are having success with a product that lets users write their own reports with almost zero training – the manual is so short it comes printed on a mouse pad, and most people only need two minutes to start performing complex analysis on real business data.
Enprise is selling, implementing and supporting the product – called iQ4Bis – as a companion to Exo. Enprise selected it because it has a unique ability to automate ‘slice and dice’ analytical reporting across all Exo modules, says Enprise General Manager Matt Sealy.
“The remarkable thing about this product is the way it automatically turns raw data into business insight,” he says.
“A company’s business data is usually already captured inside EXO, but staff and managers can’t really ‘see’ the lessons contained in that data. The figures are there, but they’re not giving up their secrets. Users can’t readily spot trends or issues, or see the relationships between the different elements of the business to understand how one thing changes another – unless they write a specific report. iQ4Bis makes all of those different dimensions visible simultaneously, and lets users explore them intuitively.”
An intuitive user interface reduces the need for user training to just a few minutes, and enables the product manual to be printed on a mouse pad. The ability to do this type of ‘free flow’ reporting frees users to think about and explore their business data without any limitations. Technical knowledge becomes unnecessary - if you can think it, you can do it. Every view of the data contains instant year-on-year, period to date, rolling period, actual, budget, forecast comparison and day, week, period, quarter and year rollups. Complex analytic formulas like variances, achievements and ratios only take a single click.
“It’s a radical departure from the normal way of writing reports. You really have to see it in action to understand the power,” says Matt Sealy.
“It also has a different cost structure, with businesses no longer paying for each report. Instead there is a one-off capital cost, with a typical return on investment of less than five years. It is generally considerably cheaper than paying continuing consultancy costs to write or change individual reports. It requires very little IT involvement as there is no software to load – it runs within Microsoft Internet Explorer. This means any machine running a web browser can run iQ4Bis.”
iQ4Bis won ‘Best Mid-Market Solution Software’ two years in a row at the Gartner Midsize Enterprise Summit.
