Integration can increase profit

Integration is a fancy way of saying ‘making things talk to each other’. However you say it, integration can boost your bottom line.

Nine out of ten installs of MYOB Exo done by Enprise now have an integration component. There are three main kinds of integration, says Enprise Waikato General Manager Kris Schneider.

“The big three are integration to websites; integration with internal systems; and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI),” she says.

Integration to websites is something Enprise does for many of its customers. The ability to send orders from an online customer’s shopping cart directly in to your MYOB Exo system has many advantages, Kris Schneider says.

“Integrating your website with MYOB Exo means stock can update live on your website. The beauty of that is you maintain only one stock list. Without that integration you have to maintain two different stock lists, which takes extra administrative time and is prone to errors.”

Customer service is the big win for website integration. End customers can log in to see prices from the designated price list for their company. They can view back orders and see what’s in stock.

The second of the ‘big three’ is integration of MYOB EXO with internal systems.

Integration with internal systems is something Enprise customers ask for a lot, Kris Schneider says.

“Often it involves industry-specific software or software applications that have been developed or heavily customised for the business. Enprise uses Flow as middleware to streamline processes and remove the need to double handle data.”

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the third main type of integration asked for by Enprise customers. EDI is gaining in popularity all the time, driven in part by large retailers like Bunnings, The Warehouse, Progressive Enterprises, and others, requiring suppliers to trade with them electronically.

“Apart from compliance, EDI frees up time and reduces errors,” says Kris Schneider.

“Electronic Data Interchanges can pay for themselves by eliminating data entry for both inwards and outwards transactions.”

Enprise’s recommended way of achieving integration between MYOB Exo and any other software is to use the Flow middleware. Flow can do all types of integration, including integrating industry-specific and custom-made software.
