Manufacturer and distributor Fuelchief has selected Enprise and MYOB Advanced to manage its financial systems, including complex inventory and currency management needs.
Fuelchief manufactures and distributes fuel storage tanks to the Australian mining, forestry, roading, marine and construction industry sectors. It specialises in helping industries to store and manage hazardous liquids in the workplace. The company was recently launched by Civilquip, the leading New Zealand supplier in this field.
The web-based nature of MYOB Advanced allows Fuelchief to access its financial, inventory management and CRM data from offices across Australia and New Zealand.
Fuelchief imports components from many different countries to manufacture its products. The ability to administer complex inventory needs, and manage multiple currencies, were two of the company’s most important criteria, says Administration Manager Nikita Hoyle.
“It’s awesome being able to enter a supplier bill in a foreign currency,” Nikita says.
When Fuelchief pays the supplier bill, it pays in its own currency – Australian dollars – and applies the payment. The conversion rate changes the payment to the correct foreign currency amount.
“Inventory management is also a big thing for us. We build new assemblies inside our inventory system. We use multiple inventory items to manufacture a final product for distribution,” says Nikita.
Fuelchief also tracks the serial numbers of products. In terms of distribution, it uses customer records to keep track of what has gone where. The company is just in the early stages of using the CRM capability inside MYOB Advanced.
“I can see that our use of CRM is going to expand,” Nikita Hoyle says.
“You can do useful stuff like recording customers, suppliers and tasks, but you can also assign key words that allow you to filter by category. That means we can sort our customer base and market to particular industry sectors with targeted, relevant content. We haven’t yet explored Advanced CRM to its full extent.”
