The marine industry has sophisticated service and maintenance requirements, with mission-critical hi-tech equipment in harsh environments. Lusty & Blundell implemented Enprise’s own Service Manager module for MYOB Exo to meet its customer service and maintenance needs. This operates the entire service department, booking service tasks and appointments, managing repairs, technician time, warranty claims and replacement product on sales.

“Special side programs like Service Manager enable us to get full use out of MYOB Exo,” says Phil Sumner.

“Enprise has been there from the start, they know our system and can customise it as required. We really appreciate their knowledge and expertise in getting things resolved. Part of that is the consistency of their staff, some of whom have been working with us for a long time. We’re very happy with the level of support we receive.”

Lusty & Blundell is a major importer and distributor of stock, managing multiple foreign currencies each day.

“I control my foreign exchange every day by using Purchase Orders to understand how much is being purchased, so I can cover those currencies at the time we are committed to them,” Phil Sumner says.

“I rely on that Outstanding Purchase Orders report to be accurate every day.”

Lusty & Blundell dives deep into sales and margin analysis, looking at break downs by product group against budget and comparing these with the same period last year. A stock turnover report indicates any obsolescence or slow-moving stock so the company can move it as quick as possible.  Balance sheet and P & L reporting goes to the management team.

Upgrade delivers security and productivity gains

Lusty & Blundell has complex stock management needs, with stock at warranty locations and in showrooms around New Zealand, as well as on sponsored boats. The company uses a bespoke stock management system developed by Enprise for MYOB Exo. This drills into figures down to individual purchase or sales order level. Different weightings on different products calculate optimum replenishment levels.

Lusty & Blundell markets heavily to improve awareness of its products in the marketplace and has its website connected to MYOB Exo. This delivers product imagery and communicates pricing and options to customers online so they can select what they need and arrange shipping online. Customer contact details are stored in MYOB Exo.

“MYOB Exo works well with the way we launch and market products and special deals across our website, social and other channels,” Phil Sumner says.
