Reporting has always been important but it’s a key driver for customers now – Enprise offers a variety of approaches and options for getting information out of MYOB Exo.
Choices range from dashboards that deliver graphical information relevant to the person logged in, to the GL Report Writer for financial reporting, which expresses information in columns and rows. A Clarity Report Writer within Exo offers query-based reporting. ODBC links can pull data directly from your database into Excel or Word documents. With this you can pre-configure a query and save it inside a spreadsheet. When a user clicks ‘refresh’ the data in the spreadsheet will update. Sales Analysis Designer is another reporting tool available.
“The field is wide open as to what approach a business wants to take,” says Enprise General Manager Waikato, Kris Schneider.
“Other options include Microsoft Office-based tools offering SQL queries, such as the ODBC utility. You may be able to use query tools you already have inside your existing business software. Enprise also offers a broad range of companion products that integrate tightly with Exo. We implement and support these products, including training. We can help you choose the best approach.”
She says customers should be confident to build their reporting set over time as they learn which reporting is most useful to their individual business.
“If it’s in the database it can be pulled out into a report. The hard bit is making sure the data is captured in the first place.”
Two new MYOB whitepapers on reporting called ‘Unlock your data’ and ‘Less is really more’ discuss why reporting is a major area of stress for many businesses, and why an integrated approach to reporting allows companies to get better visibility to see what’s driving their business so they can make more informed decisions quicker.
