Payday filing is on the way! As you know, earlier this year, the New Zealand Government passed a bill to make PAYE information reporting mandatory from April 2019. Payday PAYE is part of the Government’s action plan to enable digital interactions between Inland Revenue and employers. As part of this, all New Zealand employers need to switch to payday filing by 1 April 2019.
MYOB is currently working closely with the IRD to build the required functionality into their payroll software to ensure you will be compliant with the upcoming digital transformation. MYOB has advised they will shortly release the first version capable of this functionality, and an early access program will be available soon. They are on track to release payday-enabled software early next year, well in advance of the 1 April 2019 deadline.
While you can move to payday filing manually now, you may find it easier to wait until your software is ready. If you’re keen to prepare, you can always visit the IRD’s payday filing hub or let Enprise know you want to be wait listed for early release.
Enprise will communicate with all payroll customers to keep you up to date with any new developments or information. In the meantime, you can find useful information at the resources below.
