Support for Windows 7 has ended

After 10 years, Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. If you’re still using Windows 7, you might like to consider your next steps. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10. 

What ‘end of support’ means

Your computer running Windows 7 will still work but Microsoft will no longer provide:

  • Technical support for any issues
  • Software updates
  • Security updates or fixes.

While you could continue to run Windows 7, without continued software and security updates your computer it will be at a greater risk for viruses and malware - even with additional antivirus software. 

Microsoft is recommending Windows 7 users upgrade to Windows 10, on a new PC (they don't recommend installing Windows 10 on older devices).
